7 month happenings

Mary is 7 months old! She is an expert roller and loves sleeping on her stomach. She can also sit up very well and uses her feet to pick things up. She went swimming, lost her voice, loves to play peek-a-boo, and is fascinated by mom's ring. She is always sticking her tongue out and looking around. Her first food was avocado and so far her favorite food is sweet potato.

This past weekend we went on a hike and pilgrimage to Prague with the young adults of OKC.
Going on a little walk at Prague Lake.

One of the young adults in the group, Victoria.

Bath time!

Mary is so curious.

Sitting up!

She is starting to enjoy the water

But sometimes she just wants to grab things!

In the water

We signed Mary up for the "Swim Babies" class at Joel's company. Its been a lot of fun. Mary is very comfortable in the water and mostly just takes it all in. She also floats very well! Ruth was very excited to get her in the pool. With summer right around the corner, we will probably be in the water a lot!

Cupping water to her chin. She wasn't against it.

Mary is always calm and collected
Swimming to dad

There is lots of singing

Joel's Birthday!!

On the top of Mount Scott. 360 degree views!

Joel finally caught up to Ruth! Just in time too because Ruth was getting lonely being old all by herself. We had a great weekend exploring the Wichita Mountains, which is a short drive from Oklahoma City.

Joel loved explaining the geology
It was a beautiful day for a hike and picnic

Joel's brother, Noah, also joined the fun
Buffalo at the visitor center
Mary loved them

Do I get cake?

Joel opening presents

He loved all his gifts

It took Joel a few tries to blow out all the candles. Old age is hard!

Lemon cake!

Joel served himself the piece(s) on the left, and gave Ruth the sliver on the right. Thanks Joel!

Back in Albuquerque...

Rio Grande!

We took a quick weekend to visit Albuquerque and catch up with John Paul and Rebecca, Mary's godparents. Joel pointed out it was the first time we were together driving from Oklahoma City to Albuquerque- which was a nice change to our (past) usual trips. It was interesting to see the drive Joel used to take when he came to visit Ruth. There was a lot more sunlight in eastern New Mexico than when Ruth used to drive through, and it was starkly beautiful. And we could sleep in the car!

John Paul and Rebecca

Joel and John Paul went mountain biking while Rebecca, Mary and I relaxed. Then we went on a walk along the Bosque and saw the (high) Rio Grande. It was great weather again for us! Mary thought Joel's chest was a great place to take a nap.
Cool/creepy path to the river

Sandia Mountains in the background

Mary had a great time, and so did we!
We went to a Marco Rubio rally (in OKC). Mary was curious.
And now for some silly pictures! We hope you had a great weekend too!
Someone wants to say hi

"You are a huge Sophie"
She doesn't mind nosy giraffes
I will touch you
